OML Center at the Loss and Damage Forum

By: Perlyn M. Pulhin

OML Center Program Manager, Ms. Perlyn Pulhin participated at the Loss and Damage Forum held on 30 September 2014 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This was sponsored and organized by the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN), International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD), and the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED). The workshop was held in conjunction with the 4thAsia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Forum organized by the Asia Pacific Adaptation Network (APAN) wherein Ms. Pulhin was invited as one of the resource persons (you may refer to a separate news article here).

The Loss and Damage Workshop brought together researchers, academics, practitioners and decision makers from Asia-Pacific to showcase past, present, and future research on loss and damage. The workshop provided platform for researchers and stakeholders to brainstorm research gaps/challenges, tools/approaches, financial mechanism and the links to resilient development. It provided a great opportunity for the participants including the OML Center to network with other individuals working on loss and damage in the region.

The recent APN publication which was disseminated at the Loss and Damage Workshop highlights the OML Center project among those regional studies that can help advance research and guide sound policy development. Check this link to download the publication.
