OML Center Inaugural Research Grant Awards Ceremony

The OML Center is pleased to announce that three institutions of higher learning (Ateneo De Manila University, De La Salle University, and University of the Philippines) were identified as the recipients of the Center’s first round of grants. The Inaugural Research Grant Awards Ceremony will be held on May 31, 2013 (Friday) 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m at OML Hall 38th Floor, One Corporate Center Building, Julia Vargas cor, Meralco Avenue, Ortigas, Pasig City.

We recognize that science and technology have a critical role to play in enhancing the resilience and coping capacity of the various sectors of society whose aspiration to develop sustainably is threatened by climate-related risks and disasters. To help achieve one of its main goals of supporting focused and science-based efforts towards developing innovative solutions to mitigate the risks and impacts of climate change and geo-hazards, the Center lined up as one of its main activities the awarding of research grants that will support applied research/science and engineering-based initiatives. Seven proposals passed the rigorous review of the Technical Review Panel and Program Committee.

The May 31 event will also launch the Call for Proposals for the second round of grants so keep an eye on our website for more announcements.
