OML Center at the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Workshop on ASEAN Water Management System

The OML Center presented and participated at the side meeting on “Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Workshop on ASEAN Water Management System” at the 69th ASEAN Committee on Science and Technology (ASEAN COST) meeting on 24 May 2015 in Phuket, Thailand.

The objectives of the meeting were to exchange knowledge, information and data related to climate, weather and water and create a collaboration network on water management among ASEAN countries.

The meeting was participated by 32 representatives from government, non-government and academic organizations of the ASEAN countries working on climate change and water related issues.

The speakers from each country shared the current state and trends of climate and water management systems in the country. The presentation session was followed by a workshop wherein the participants discussed the creation of a network on water resource management and its mechanisms.

The ASEAN Committee on Science and Technology (ASEAN COST) meeting is an annual event which aims to gather senior officials from ASEAN countries discussing strategies to strengthen and enhance the capacity of ASEAN in Science, Technology and Innovation (STI). This year’s meeting is hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Thailand and will run until 29 May 2015.

OML Center’s participation was sponsored by the organizers – Hydro and Agro Informatics Institute (HAII) of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Thailand.
