Earth Hour 2015: Change Climate Change

The OML Center once again joins the Lopez Group of Companies in supporting the annual Earth Hour. Themed “Change Climate Change,” this year’s event will be held on March 28 at 8:30 PM.

Initiated by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Earth Hour is a global environmental movement that seeks to encourage individuals, households, communities, government and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for an hour as a symbol of their commitment to the planet. Through the years, Earth hour has gone beyond the one-hour lights off event. It has achieved massive environmental impact, including legislation changes by harnessing the power of the crowd.

In 2014, more than 7000 cities, towns and municipalities from 162 countries participated in the lights off; 60 of which went beyond the hour by conducting activities and campaigns to preserve the environment, launching crowdfunding to support environment friendly projects, passing bills that are in favor of the environment, and the like.

Let’s all take part in this movement to encourage individuals, businesses and governments around the world to take accountability for their ecological footprint and engage in dialogue and resource exchange that provides real solutions to our environmental challenges.
