The World Bank Planning Workshop Design on Risk Resiliency and Sustainability Program

Due to climate-induced disasters like that wrought by Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan), the Philippines is now considered the most vulnerable country in the world.  As a result, building our resilience against climate risks and disasters has now become our government’s number one priority. And it should be ours too, if we are not to allow the disasters to define who we are, and who we can be.

In support of the government’s efforts to integrate a framework of resiliency throughout its programs, policies and projects, the World Bank hosted a planning workshop to brainstorm with fellow stakeholders to the cause of climate change and resilience on how best to outline this nationwide convergence.  The OML Center participated in this activity and locked heads with colleagues from government, business and other non-profits to exchange ideas on how to roll out a national program on resilience.
