Call for Abstracts: First Annual FLARE Network Conference

The International Forestry Resources and Institutions, together with the Musee de l’Homme Research Group on Social and Natural Evolution and Program on Forests of the World Bank (PROFOR), will hold its First Annual FLARE (Forests and Livelihood: Assessment, Research, and Engagement) Network Conference from 27 to 30 November 2015 at the Musee de l’Homme in Paris, France.

The conference aims to mainstream the significant role of forestry in livelihood improvement and strengthening through knowledge-sharing among key stakeholders and, in so doing, assess its contributions to biodiversity conservation and climate change adaptation.

In line with this, abstract submissions that tackle discussions on forestry livelihood are invited. Chosen abstracts that are expected to employ evidence-based studies that discuss the implications of sustainable forest management to various stakeholders will be featured at the Conference.  These abstracts may come in the form of oral presentations, lightning talks, posters, and workshops and are recommended to encompass any of the following themes:

1.       Governance and Landscapes

2.       Agricultural Commodities

3.       Social and Biological Aspects of Forest Dependence

4.       Impact Evaluations

5.       Pathways to prosperity

6.       Climate

The deadline for submission of the abstracts will be on July 15, 2015. Senders will be notified for the acceptance or decline of their submission on August 1, 2015.
